Monday run on the Creek
Today's run was weird. We ran on the Boulder Creek like we always do but right off the bat the pace was difficult. We just could not settle into anything, we kept picking it up on subtle hills, maintaining and then picking it up again. We soon past the mile marker on the path and we clicked off a 7:04 mile. I know that does not sound all that fast, but it is entirely up hill. Right after this Bobbie and Max turned back to do 40 and 45 min respectively. Then Wally and I decided to follow the path up hill. When I say up hill I mean straight up hill. We climbed a very steep hill for a full about 3 min before we were both gassed and decided to turn back. Then I was struck by the runners curse and had to make a pit stop at the base of the hill. Lucky for me there was no toilet paper so I got to use small leaves. Lame. After that minor detour we finished the run by going down river on Boulder Creek and past 9th almost to 30th street before we turned back. Both of us seemed pretty tired when we finished and we decided to take it more easy the first half of runs and burn on the end. Hopefully we keep this in mind in the future.
